The Responsibilities of Clerk

  • Meeting Minutes

    The Clerk records and preserves the minutes of all township meetings, documenting board actions and decisions.

  • Records Management

    The Township Clerk is responsible for maintaining and safeguarding all township records.

  • Legal Filing

    The Clerk is required by law to be in charge of the filing and archiving all papers.

  • Oaths & Affidavits

    The clerk may administer oaths and take affidavits to be administered or taken by township officers.

  • Voter Registration

    As a deputy registrar, the Clerk facilitates voter registration within the township.

  • Handicapped Plaques

    The Clerk is responsible for distributing handicapped parking plaques to eligible residents.

  • Tax Certification

    The Clerk certifies tax-related documents in accordance with legal requirements.

  • Levy Documentation

    The Clerk officially records votes related to tax levies.
